- AzuraWave – a wave energy device capable to turn wave into water & electricity
- Valo – a smart wave energy device build by the University of Auckland
- Smart polymer for energy harvesting, a project by the Auckland Bioengineering Institute & PowerOn
- International Collaboration
- we are in discussion with the Australian Ocean Energy Group, the European based PLOCAN & EMEC
- Marine Energy Prize – 2021
- we are working on an innovation prize for marine energy in the New Year
- Marine Energy Centre of Excellence
- combine marine energy with Northport’s Vision for Growth and develop an HQ for marine energy in Northland, with future subsidiaries around NZ e.g. Kaipara Harbour, Wellington, Tory Channel, Foveaux Strait
- Energy Transition in Northland
- Phasing out fossil fuel (sunset industry) and ramping up renewables (sunrise industry) and working on a just energy transition is a current project started in Tai Tokerau.
- Marine Energy/ Climate Change Degree
- we have initiated first dialogue between Universities, Crown Research Institutes and overseas Marine Energy experts on how to offer a right skilling into the growing renewable/marine energy sector
