Conference 2008

AWATEA held its second annual conference on Thursday 29 May 2008 in the Icon Room at Te Papa in Wellington.  Over 115 members and non-members attended the meeting to hear 14 speakers discussing marine energy.

Hon. David Parker, Minister of Energy, opened the conference.

The conference was split into a morning session on “Resources and Projects”, followed by an afternoon session on “Policies and Regulation”. Keynote speakers from the UK and Australia described activities in their home countries. The afternoon concluded with a panel discussion, chaired Chris Laidlaw.
