Conference 2007
AWATEA held its first annual conference on Thursday 15 March 2007 in the Icon Room at Te Papa in Wellington. Over 118 members and non-members attended the meeting to hear 13 speakers discussing marine energy.
Hon. David Parker, Minister of Energy, and Jeanette Fitzsimons, opened the conference and afternoon session, respectively.
The conference was split into a morning session on “Resources and Projects”, followed by an afternoon session on “Policies and Regulation”. The afternoon concluded with a panel discussion, chaired by business commentator, Rod Oram.
Keynote speakers from Canada and the UK described activities in their home countries.
